Otrzymałem już kilka maili z pytaniami, dlaczego nie piszemy o Netscape 6.1. Jest to dość ciekawe pytanie, bo chociaż staramy się nie udawać Freshmeata, to jednak newsy o programach, które wydają nam się ważne, powinny się ukazywać. A więc dlaczego?
Odpowiedz jest prosta – informacje o pojawieniu się 6.1 są nieprawdziwe. Katalog 6.1 na ftp.netscape.com jest pusty… Jak wynika z niewielkiego dochodzenia przeprowadzonego przez MozillaQuest Magazine, katalog ten pojawił się tylko na chwilę, a zaraz pózniej zniknął. Całość została skomentowana stwierdzeniem, że chodziło o testy.
Dostępna za to jest Netscape w wersji 6.1PR1, która – jak głosi cytowany poniżej changelog – wprowadza trochę dość ciekawych zmian. Polecam lekturę… a co do instalacji – no cóż, arturs ostatnio poleca mi Galeona…

- New ability to read IMAP email accounts and Netscape Webmail when not connected to the Internet.
