2.2 nie umarło

Wbrew temu, co sądzą niektórzy autorzy pracujący w poczytnych miesięcznikach komputerowych, poprzednie serie kernela (2.0.x oraz 2.2.x) nie zostają porzucone w chwili pojawienia się 2.4.x. Dowodem na to jest pojawienie się w ostatnich dniach kernela 2.2.20pre1, który wprowadza kilka poprawek do jądra. Za to mało prawdopodobne jest dodawanie sterowników nowych urządzeń do starych kerneli, które są już raczej w maintainance, a nie development state…
