Dear SuSE AXP users, As Werner Posselt and others asked for future releases of SuSE Linux for the Alpha platform, I asked for an official comment on this matter. Due to Compaq's sale of the AXP architecture to Intel and HP's recent acquisition of Compaq the future of the AXP architecture is uncertain. Without the support of the hardware manufacturer, it is very hard to keep an operating system actualized. For this reason, we can give no new information as to the further development of the AXP architecture at this point in time. Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Stefan Reinauer
